At Managepoint, we train our customers in a variety of areas in our role as our clients Human Resources department. Harassment training is something that all of our clients take seriously, and we schedule on a regular basis. Our next harassment training is on Prohibited Harassment, and takes place on November 21. You can register for that training program here. We will cover what employees need to know including: legal basis for prohibition, practical reasons for enforcement, what constitutes harassment and action steps for victims and witnesses.
Mark Toth from the Manpower Group Blogs has put together a cheat sheet for Harassment law. He talks about quid pro quo harassment where certain benefits of employment are conditioned on the victim’s submission to unwanted sexual advances by a supervisor, and the victims ability to file a claim even if they succumb to the advances, as well as who the perpetrator by law is classified, and the liability of the employer for proven harassment. He also talks about a hostile work environment and how an employer can avoid liability for hostile work environment harassment. You can read the blog here.
As your outsourced human resources partner, Managepoint will implement and help you enforce an anti-harassment policy, provide training, provide avenues for victims to complain, and help you understand potential penalties. Call us today to learn more.
