We have all been to discrimination training, read the employee handbook on what to look for and how to report or respond, and have been told again and again that the door is always open at the Human Resources department for discrimination complaints, how to handle complaints, and what the company can and cannot do, and yet…
A brief summary, a person is at a trade show, and two people behind her are making sexual jokes. She is not amused, and tweets a complaint about it. It escalates, and one of the people that was sitting behind her is fired by his company. The person complaining is backed by her company she says, up until she was fired, for not handling complaints the right way. Sigh, and bring on the lawyers.
